STINK BUG's Story

Meet Stink Bug, the neutered male black kitty. Stink Bug arrived to the Shelter with a microchip after being found at a campground. People had been seeing him around the campground but he didn’t have a guardian to care for him long term, so someone brought him to the Shelter for safety. Staff report that Stink Bug arrived to the Shelter ready to make friends – chirping and making biscuits upon arrival. He was reported to by cuddly and social by the people that found him. Maybe his name should be Cuddle Bug instead of Stink Bug! Either way, this handsome guy is ready to find his next person. Could it be you? We don’t have any history of Stink Bug with other animals. A home with other animals may be appropriate after a slow, thoughtful introduction. Although Stink Bug does have some experience being outdoors, he would best be indoors while transitioning to the new home and then, after acclimation, have access to the outdoors. Stink Bug’s adoption fee is reduced by $20 thanks to the Bogey Fund – a fund that draws adopter’s eyes towards often overlooked black cats in Shelters waiting to be adopted. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
