Steve's Story

Steve is an affectionate cat who was surrendered to PAWS with his roaming partner, Pam (a sweet tabby). They were a well known free roaming pair in a NW OKC neighborhood for their sweet natures and were surrendered to PAWS-OK so we could find them a home. Unfortunately when we took them to the vet, we discovered that both of them are FIV positive. This virus is not deadly to healthy young cats but is transferable through mating and serious fighting (deep penetrating bites). If you are looking for a pair of cats these may be a great pick or if you want to adopt just one, it would need to be either an only cat or live with another FIV cat and be kept indoor only to prevent spread. Steve is shy at first then sweet as can be when he knows you better.

Pet Adoption and Welfare Services of OK (PAWS-OK)'s Adoption Policy
Adopting a new pet for your home is a big decision and should not be entered into without proper consideration of your lifestyle and the needs of the pet.  We are open to all lifestyles and believe responsible pet owners are a very diverse group of people. We require an Adoption Request Form to be completed on all potential adoptions.  The Request helps us to understand your pet experience and "cat personality" preferences so that we can help you select the cat that most nearly meets your expectations. If you are interested in any of the pets you see listed here you can complete an Adoption Request Form at: https://form.jotform.com/pawsokrescue/adoption-request-form If you are looking for a specific cat and you don't see it listed here, please e-mail us at pawsokrescue@gmail.com and leave us a detailed message about what you are looking for and we will see if we have one that meets your needs or direct you to another source for what you are looking for.
