Star's Story

While rescuing a mom and kittens from a Staten Island bodega, our TNR volunteers were told about another pregnant mama cat living in the yard who was about to give birth. They weren’t allowed to see her at the time, but were promised they could come back. When they returned, they were told she had already had her babies and “someone took her.”

None of us could stop thinking about that mama cat. We hoped she was safe. We prayed someone had helped her. We finally got the call.

They could come take her — because all of the babies were sick.

Now we have sweet mama Star and her five tiny kittens safe in rescue, but they are battling painful upper respiratory infections and eye infections and had to be rushed to the emergency vet. They are now on antibiotics and eye medications.

Mama Star is doing her mom duties despite not being fed by these people and very young herself. Her babies are being well cared for and now it's time to find mom a family to love her. She is super friendly, loves pets and gives as much affection as she yearns for. She will be spayed, vaxxed, tested and microchipped this coming week.

Let's make this sweet girls dreams of a home come true! Moms need love too!!!
