Stanley's Story

Stanley is a super handsome, sweet young fellow who LOVES attention and being brushed and gives head butts and purrs in return. About 4 years old, he was found stray in Buckingham Co and would be a good indoor or indoor/outdoor kitty in a safe setting. He is good with other cats and probably gentle dogs.Stanley is a sneezer and has been tested and treated. If you' re ok with that, he will be the most rewarding cat you've ever owned He is fully vetted, most teeth removed, and available to meet at Lake Anna. This pet is eligible for Meg's birthday special and the PETS FOR PATRIOTS adoption program. Please email megshrum@gmail.com with questions and follow the adoption process below. The Adoption Process If you are ready to meet this feline please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10664/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match. The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about their likes, dislikes, and little quirks. The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you're ready to take the feline home as your furry forever friend, their adoption fee is $125. Should the match turn out less than perfect, or if you are unwilling or unable to care for an adopted animal, the Louisa Humane Society will take the animal back into our care.

Louisa Humane Society's Adoption Policy

If you are interested in meeting any our animals, please fill out an adoption application at www.louisahumanesociety.com, click on the “paw” for Adoption Application. or copy/paste the following link into your internet browser: http://louisahumanesociety.com/adoptionapplication.htm Once submitted, the vet reference you provided will be contacted (if no vet, please provide 3 personal references, may be family and friends as long as they have a dog that you interact with), and a volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. Once approved, you will be contacted by the foster parent to discuss the animal and arrange the logistics for a visit. Our rescue group does not have a brick and mortar facility, all our animals are home fostered in our volunteer’s houses. You will be visiting a private residence. The application does not oblige you to adopt, nor does the visitation; the application just gives us more info to help ensure a good match. Our policy is that we always take our animals back should it prove to be a less than perfect match, or if you are unable or unwilling to care for the animal any longer. We just don't want the animal to go back into the system.
