Squeakie's Story
Meet Squeakie, a gentle 9-month-old boy with a soft heart who is eager to learn how wonderful a loving home can be! While he doesn't hiss, Squeakie does tend to be a bit of a hider when he's feeling unsure, though he sweetly accepts pets once you reach out to him. To help him blossom, Squeakie needs to go to a home with another cat to show him the ropes of being a cat--whether that's adopting a buddy from our shelter alongside him or pairing him with a social, friendly resident cat already in his furever home. He is looking for an experienced cat owner who can guide him on this journey and keep showing him how comforting human affection can be. For a shy boy like Squeakie, it is crucial that his forever family doesn't let him hide away in quiet, isolated corners; keeping him gently integrated in daily life helps prevent fear from taking root and allows his confidence to flourish. Because of his sensitive nature, any children in the home should be over the age of 12 and understand how to respect a cat's space. We don't recommend dogs for him at this stage, though that could always change down the road as he settles in and gains confidence. Squeakie recently had a dental cleaning while in our care, and our vet recommends he receives a follow-up dental checkup in January. We are looking for an adopter who will commit to bringing him to their primary vet in January for an exam to get their professional opinion on his dental care moving forward. If you have a patient heart, a friendly feline, and the time to help a shy boy thrive, Squeakie is ready to meet you! His adoption fee is $250.

*To visit our cats, you must make an appointment on-line at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt.*

Note: While we are happy to respond to your questions about any of our cats, you will still be required to make an on-line appointment at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt if you wish to meet our cats. Once you have a confirmed appointment, you can monitor the adoption appointment calendar and move your appointment to an earlier opening should one become available. We are not able to contact you to switch your appointment.

Stay up-to-date with all events and happenings at Caring for Cats!
