Spud's Story

Hi there! My name is Spud and I'm a Female Domestic Short Hair currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home!

At 15 years, Spud has fully embraced her "old lady" era and honestly... she's earned it. This sweet senior is all about the simple things in life: a cozy bed, a quiet home, and a human who understands that the days of chaos are long behind her. She's not here for the hustle and bustle of everyday life; she's just here for the vibes. Spud would do best as the only animal in the home, where she can truly relax and enjoy her retirement without the stress of sharing her space. She's looking for a calm, indoor-only environment where she can feel safe and respected at her own pace. Like many torties, Spud has a little personality (okay, a lot), she's got sass and charm to prove it. Late to give her breakfast? She's going to give you an earful! Feeling lonely? She'll make sure you don't forget she's there! If you've got a soft spot for senior pets and a peaceful home to offer, Spud might just be your perfect match. She's not asking for much, just a quiet place to spend her golden years and someone to love her exactly for who she is. And good news: a kind person has sponsored her adoption fee!

Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed.

Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.

Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission.

Hope to see you soon!
