Spud's Story
Spud ( less than a year old) has had quite the life in her short time being on this earth. She has not had it easy that’s for sure. From growing up on the streets to bouncing around between fosters and other placements, she’s seen a lot. This little girl has been spending the last few months learning what it means to be a house cat and she’s come a very long way and made some amazing progress.

The first couple weeks in her new foster home she was shut down and scared of everything, she just stayed hidden in her favorite rock shaped hidey hole and only coming out to eat at night time. Then Spud was transferred to a bigger enclosure and she started to blossom. She started asking for pets and giving little meows, started being active with toys and eating a lot better. Every day she made little steps forward in trusting the humans and the other animals in the room. After a little over a month she became a new cat, her personality was coming out and she was being so sweet and snuggly. Two months in and she’s asking to be let out of her enclosure more and more, playing with the other kittens and just simply being… a house cat.

While it took a bit of patience and understanding, Spud was able to overcome her anxieties and blossomed into a spunky and sweet young lady. She gains her confidence slowly, she loves with her whole heart, and she’s going to make someone an amazing companion. Spud really enjoys places she can hide in like beds or cardboard houses or tunnels so she can comfortably play in an area and hop inside a house for a moment if she spooks. She does enjoy playing with the other kittens and would do well with a buddy in her new home. She has done very well with the fosters nanny dog and would do okay with other calm, quiet and respectful dogs.
