Spitfire's Story
Don't let the name fool you. This handsome male tabby is anything but fiery. Spitfire arrived at ARF at the end of March alongside his brother, Hardy. While they don't need to be adopted together, we always like to share when cats come in as a pair just in case someone is looking to open their heart and home to two companions who already know and trust each other.

Spitfire is still finding his footing here at the shelter. With so many new sights, sounds, people, and fellow felines, it's completely understandable that he's feeling a bit unsure. Change can be overwhelming and Spitfire is taking it all in at his own pace. What he needs most is a patient, gentle adopter. It should be someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let him come out of his shell on his own terms.

He would thrive in a calm home where he isn't rushed or overwhelmed. A confident, feline-friendly cat companion could really help Spitfire feel more at ease, showing him the ropes and reassuring him that he's safe. With the right environment and a little patience, we believe Spitfire will blossom into a loyal and loving companion.

Tabby cats like Spitfire are some of the most beloved cats in American homes and for good reason. They're often known for their friendly, affectionate personalities, intelligence, and adaptability. Tabbies have a reputation for being wonderful companions who form strong bonds with their people and their classic striped coats make them instantly recognizable and endlessly charming.

Spitfire may not be living up to his bold name right now, but beneath that cautious exterior is a sweet cat just waiting for the right person to help him shine. Could that be you?

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
