Spenser's Story

Meet Spenser! This adorable guy is ready to relax and retire from a life of being on the streets and the cold Chicago winters. He was picked up by one of our cat partners who feeds lots of stray cats in the city. He was in pretty rough shape when he arrived, but he is now doing much better and he would love to meet you! Spenser is very friendly and he is also a big foodie! He currently is getting his meals in a puzzle feeder because he likes to eat really fast. And this is probably because he never knew where his next meal was coming from. Spenser is neutered and up-to-date on his FVRCP and Rabies vaccines. He is FeLV negative. Spenser recently had a dental on 1/7/2026. He is FIV positive. This just means that there are some extra steps to keeping Spenser healthy. FIV can weaken the cat's immune system. While FIV-positive cats can enjoy long, healthy lives, they can be hit harder by secondary infections. Please feel free to ask our Heartland Team for a more in-depth overview. Spenser is currently staying onsite at our Heartland Facility! Stop by during our open hours on Thursday 4pm-7pm, Friday 4pm-7pm, Saturday Noon-6pm or Sunday Noon-6pm to meet them!
