Meet Speckles!<br/><br/>Speckles is a beautiful tortoiseshell girl with a wonderfully particular personality. She is cautious, thoughtful, affectionate, playful, and very much a girl who likes to do things on her own terms. It took Speckles a few months to truly warm up to her foster family. By default, she likes to hide and take her time deciding how she feels about a new person or situation. She may still dodge if she doesn't feel completely safe, so she needs a patient home that will let her set the pace. But once Speckles decides you're her person, you'll discover a very sweet and affectionate cat. Specked would do well in a quiet household with no young children.<br/> <br/>Speckles is a lover of pats. She especially enjoys chin scratches, butt scratches, and burying her face into your palm. She absolutely loves her daily brushing sessions and will happily purr when you speak softly to her. She doesn't like being picked up or held, and she's very clear about her boundaries, particularly when it comes to her belly! But she will absolutely seek you out when she wants affection. <br/> <br/>Her love languages are quality time and acts of service. She loves simply having her human nearby. If you're working or busy, she is remarkably patient and will often quietly sit and look at you, waiting for you to finish. She also loves having someone nearby while she eats so she can pause between bites to get some pets. And if she's been shut in a room for too long, she'll let you know about it, Speckles has opinions about the things that matter to her!<br/> <br/>Speckles is also a playful girl. She loves her toys, she's incredible at fishing out the other cats' toys from behind the furniture and carrying them with her mouth. She is lovely with feline companions and can happily live with other cats. She has a gentle, patient way of interacting with them and would be very comfortable in a home with a friendly resident cat. Speckles is an exceptionally clean and well-mannered house cat, and she's surprisingly unfazed by the vacuum. She also has the cutest habit of kneading as she walks, making her look like a tiny pony. <br/> <br/>Speckles just wants to feel safe, have someone nearby, receive affection when she asks for it, and have opportunities to play.
