SOPHIE's Story

SOPHIE is an independent, cute little TORTIE HIMALAYAN with blue eyes. She is 5-6 years old, spayed, has her claws, is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and microchipped. She weighs close to 6 lbs.

Sophie came to us from a breeder that was no longer able to care for her cats. Sophies foster mom feels that this little cat probably did not get a whole lot of attention in that environment. She can be a bit skittish and will need a patient owner that will allow her to get used to life in her own home and come to them on her own terms.

The way to interact with Sophie is by swishing her favorite Mink Wand toy around so she can catch it and chew on it. When she sits on her cat tree, she enjoys it when her foster mom gives her some gentle head rubs, and she also likes being brushed with a special ZoomGroom brush.

Her foster mom finds this little lady to be sometimes curious, mostly unobtrusive and with just the right amount of charming tortitude. She loves exploring and chasing some toys, but is otherwise a low-key kitty. Sophie is not much of a cuddle bug, and foster mom cannot guarantee that she will ever evolve into one, but she sure makes up for it with her cute looks.

She will make one of those easy to come home to fur companions. She doesn't get into things, is not vocal, doesn't appear to be a counter surfer, and since she has lived with other Himalayan cats, she would fit nicely into a home that has another kitty of similar breed.

Her foster parents don't have dogs, but perhaps a gentle dog who loves kitties might be fine for her. Older, cat savvy children would probably be okay for her, as long as they don't expect to pick her up and carry her around.

Sophie prefers mostly dry food, and she is using her litter box perfectly.

ADOPTION FEE $250.
