Soot's Story

Meet Soot — A Gentle Girl With a Heart Full of Love

Soot is a petite, all‑black beauty with a tiny white spot on her chest that looks like a spark of magic — and truly, she is a little magical. Sweet, loving, and wonderfully social, she’s the kind of cat who quietly steals your heart the moment you meet her.

She adores affection and will happily roll over for belly rubs, chin scratches, and any attention you’re willing to give. Soot seeks companionship and loves being near her people. She’s outgoing, friendly, and has a soft, calm presence that brings warmth into any room.

Soot has mild cerebellar hypoplasia, which give her a slight wobble, but her case doesn’t stop her from living a happy, full, and active life. If anything, it just adds to her charm.

She does wonderfully with other cats and would thrive in a home with a feline friend. She’s also been around kids and dogs (although she was not a fan of a fellow large shelter dog - so she is selective), making her a great fit for many types of families. Soot is the kind of cat who fits beautifully into almost any household — a steady, loving companion who just wants a safe place to call home.

Visit during our public adoption hours
Tuesdays & Thursdays 5-7pm
Saturdays 1-5pm
Learn more about adopting a pet at heartofminnesotamn.org
