Sonny - 6800's Story

Sonny and his sister June lost their owner to cancer at the end of 2025. She was a beautiful woman who dedicated her life to taking care of the strays in her mobile home park, despite constant threats from Management and her neighbors. Her only concern as she reached the end of her battle with lung cancer was the Cats' safety when she was gone. It was her final wish that we would find them a loving home together. Sonny is an extremely handsome boy with a heart of gold. He is calm, quiet and reserved. But once he realizes you are a safe space, he has so much unconditional love to give. He absolutely loves head, back and belly scratches. He becomes an absolute cuddle bug and will happily plop over for you. He is a gentle soul who needs a quiet energy to match his. Loud/sudden noises make him a little jumpy. So he would do the best in a home with more mature children or just adults. He absolutely loves his sister June. Together, they are the sweetest pair of seniors. They deserve an amazing next chapter! And I know their original Momma is watching them closely from above.

We start with an application. If the application is approved, we then call the applicant. We do a phone interview that lasts anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour. If another phone call is needed, we may do multiple. If those two steps go well, we then do a home check and then a supply check to make sure the applicant meets our standards of care. If an applicant passes those steps, we then will set up a meet and greet and see how the applicant does with that kitty. If that step goes well, they are then cleared for adoption and are able to take the kitty home in a carrier (not cardboard box).
