Solitaire's Story
Solitaire is a 3-year-old short-hair female cat. Her adoption fee is $55. Solitaire tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is a virus that suppresses a cat's immune system. This means they are more susceptible to illnesses. Recovery time of illnesses may also be lengthened. FIV infects 3-5% of the cat population. With good care, many cats with FIV have a similar lifespan as cats without FIV. FIV cannot be transmitted to people. FIV can only be passed from cat to cat if the FIV cat bites another causing a deep wound. To practice the highest level of safety, we are looking for an adopting home with no other cats, or resident cats that are also FIV positive. If you would like more information about FIV cats, please email the Cat Adoption Manager at adoption@hspcwi.org If you are interested in adopting a cat from HSPC, please complete our adoption application. Approved applicants will be contacted within 3 working days for an appointment. We operate by appointment only. Our online application can be found at: https://hspcwi.org/adopt/ All cats adopted through HSPC are spayed/neutered, microchipped, FeLV & FIV tested, and receive core vaccinations (younger kittens may not be fully vaccinated due to age). If you have any questions or concerns, please email the Cat Adoption Manager at adoption@hspcwi.org We look forward to introducing you to your new cat!
