Sol's Story

Meet Sol! Sol is a big goofy guy with lots of love to give and lots of zoomies to run. His previous owners have said that he loves to be warm and cozy in your lap and enjoys being brushed. Sol has a condition called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC) which causes bladder inflammation and symptoms that can mimic a UTI, such as blood in the urine. He makes frequent trips to the litterbox, producing just small amounts of urine each time. The cause of FIC is unknown and there is no direct treatment for it, though stress is believed to be a big factor in causing flare ups, so Sol is looking for a stress-free home with plenty of toys to play with and fountains to drink from. His FIC can also cause him to have an accident every now and then, so he is looking for a forgiving family that will understand that it isn't his fault. He is on a special urinary care diet to assist in keeping his condition in check. Keeping him hydrated is also a good way to help prevent his flare ups, so offering wet food and access to a fountain can help increase water consumption. If you have an easy-going home and are willing to give this lovebug a chance, then come by the Humane Society to meet Sol!
