Smudge's Story
Meet Smudge! Smudge came into our care as a stray and we believe he was injured by a dog before coming to us, but he is ready for his forever home! Smudge is very quick to warm up to people once he gets settled! He is a very loving cat who loves being in your company. He will follow you around on an adventure and sit with you and supervise you whilst you work from home! He purrs loudly, and loves to lay next to you or on your lap. He is a great eater and has a wonderful temperament! Smudge is considered to be one of our special care adoptions due to being FIV+. He is okay to live with other cats, but FIV can be transmitted through deep bites, so any new animal would have to be introduced very slowly and gradually.

This pet has been patiently waiting for a family for longer than we'd like, making them a special member of our Length of Stay Program. To help them start their next chapter, they'll go home with plenty of goodies to make the transition easier, such as supplies, enrichment items, or other adoption perks. We know their perfect match is out there-we just can't wait for them to find each other!

He is currently being loved in a foster home, but needs a new foster home or to be adopted by August 9th 2026.

He has a sensitive GI tract with on-going loose stool, and has been eating Hill's Prescription Diet Z/D.

If you are interested in fostering Smudge, please email foster@anticruelty.org

If you are interested in adopting Smudge, please fill out an application here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ACIL/Cat and a staff member will be in touch with you!
