Smokey Girl's Story

I have a unique story. My birth and early days as a kitten are a blur, but when I was rescued by Hooves, Paws and Claws, I became a "working cat." Along with several companions, I was put in charge of the barn at the HPC farm in Myakka City.

One day I decided to explore the neighborhood and ended up in the yard of a person who didn't want me there. So he shot me in the right shoulder. I limped home in great pain.

HPC took me to two vets. (It's always good to get a second opinion.) Both vets took x-rays and determined that surgery to remove the bird shot wouldn't be a good idea, so it's still in my shoulder. Medication eliminated the pain, and over time my limp improved. At this point, I'm almost normal! But I need to be an inside-only pet. My barn cat days are over

I think I might be a Russian Blue mix.. Wouldn't that be neat? HPC is having my DNA analyzed and the results aren't in yet.

I'm a quiet girl...a bit shy, you might say...but I'm also affectionate, and I have a VERY loud purr. I'm no longer obsessed with running and playing, but the laser light is pretty nifty. I get along with other cats, and dogs are OK, too. I'm grateful to be alive and healthy, and I'm optimistic about finding a loving family.
