Smokey 's Story
Neutered Male
10 Years Old
9 Pounds
$0

Meet Smokey, a gentle 10-year-old gray tabby with a heart as soft as his fur. This sweet senior boy is looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years soaking up affection and companionship.

Smokey is a neutered male Domestic Shorthair who absolutely adores attention. He’ll happily lean into pets and enjoy quiet time by your side. While he’s curious and sometimes interested in exploring, he can become overwhelmed in busy environments and may retreat to a cozy hiding spot when he needs a little break. Because of this, he would do best in a peaceful home with a patient family who understands his need for both companionship and quiet time.

Smokey is diabetic and requires a special diet to stay healthy, so his future family should be prepared to monitor his food and water intake closely. He has a great appetite and drinks plenty of water, so keeping an eye on his bowl is important to ensure he’s feeling his best.

Despite his medical needs, Smokey is a truly loving and gentle companion who will reward your care with warmth, loyalty, and sweet moments every day. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate cat to share your home and your heart, Smokey might just be your perfect match.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at no additional cost to the owner. This is one reason we have fees on the dogs to help cover the extra medical some of the other residents need. They all share the burden and the rewards.
No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We typically require a meet-and-greet between any resident dogs and the dog you’re interested in adopting, to ensure everyone gets along safely and comfortably.
Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.
Open Adoption Hours:
• Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm
• Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm
• Saturday: Noon – 4 pm
I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.
We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
