Smitty's Story

Meet Smitty — independent by day, snuggle bug by night! Smitty is the perfect mix of playful, independent, and incredibly cuddly. He's a confident little guy who is perfectly happy entertaining himself, exploring, playing with his toys, and doing his own thing — but when it's time to settle down, Smitty LOVES to snuggle. He'll happily curl up next to you (or on you!) and soak up all the love and attention. There's just one thing Smitty would like you to know: he prefers to keep all four paws on his own terms. He's not a huge fan of being picked up and carried around, but that definitely doesn't mean he isn't affectionate. He just prefers to be the one who chooses when and where the cuddling happens. Smitty would be a wonderful match for someone who wants a kitten with a little independence and personality, but who still wants a sweet, playful cuddle buddy at the end of the day. Give Smitty a cozy spot beside you and a pile of toys, and he'll be one happy little guy. Adoption Information Prior to adoption, every cat in our care is spayed or neutered, microchipped, given age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for parasites, and combo-tested for FIV/FeLV. We make sure each cat is healthy, safe, and ready to thrive in their forever home. Adoption Fees Kittens (under 6 months): $175 or 2 for $300 Adults (over 6 months): $150 Seniors (10+) / Special Needs: $100 Please Note: We cannot hold cats for any reason. Please only apply if you're ready to meet and welcome your new companion within 3 days of applying. Kittens under 4 months must go to a home with another friendly feline, or be adopted with a buddy. (If a kitten is excluded from this rule, it will be noted in their profile.)

St. Sophia's Forgotten Felines's Adoption Policy

TO ADOPT, ONE MUST Have current photo identification with your current address Be willing and able to spend the time & money needed to care for your cat Carefully read the terms of our Adoption Contract and agree to its terms. Agree that if they cannot keep the cat they have adopted from St. Sophia’s, they must return the cat to us Agree to allow an authorized representative of St. Sophia’s to make an adoption follow-up THE PROCESS Adopting should never be an impulse decision — pets are for life. We respectfully ask that you come fully prepared to take on the care of a cat prior to filling out an application. On average, owning a cat costs $40 a month (food/litter/health), which is $480 annually. Cats (especially kittens) take lots of time, dedication, and love to grow and develop into loving and healthy household pets. Because we at St. Sophia’s pride ourselves in knowing our cats, we want what’s best for them, and to ensure they are going to good homes we conduct reference checks (personal and veterinary) in addition to the basic application. Please expect the adoption process to take at least 24 hours, and when your adoption is finalized, you’ll need to bring a carrier to take your new pet home in.
