Slinky | Differently Abled and Completely Perfect's Story

Meet Slinky 💛
Slinky is the kind of cat who walks (well… scoots 😉) into a room and immediately makes himself at home.

About six weeks ago, Slinky was brought to a local veterinary office with a request to euthanize him. Thankfully, the staff there saw what was right in front of them, a bright, loving, completely special little soul who deserved a chance. And we are so grateful they trusted that instinct.

Slinky is 7 months old and partially paralyzed, likely due to a congenital spinal malformation. He partially drags his back legs but can briefly get up on his feet when he wants to. He is determined, adaptable, and entirely unbothered by the way his body works. He scoots, explores, plays, and inserts himself into absolutely everything happening around him. He does not see himself as limited, and honestly, neither should you.

What truly defines Slinky is his personality. He is outrageously affectionate. From the moment he arrived, he acted like he owned the place, no shyness, no hesitation. He made friends instantly, headbutted everyone in reach, and settled in like he’d been here forever. He is confident, social, and deeply loving. The kind of cat who chooses you immediately and then expects to be adored (as he should be).

Slinky does have special care needs. He is urinary incontinent and wears diapers when he’s out and about, just like the rest of our bravest little crew. He needs his bladder expressed twice a day just to make sure he is fully emptying to prevent UTIs, but I promise it's easy! He will need a consistent routine to keep him clean, comfortable, and healthy. As with all of our diapered cats, once you learn the rhythm of his care, it becomes second nature, and Slinky is easygoing and trusting during handling.

He will thrive in a home that sees his spirit first and his disability second. A family who understands that a little extra care simply means a deeper bond. A home that appreciates confidence, charm, and a cat who absolutely believes he runs the household.

Slinky is resilient, joyful, affectionate, and so incredibly worthy of a future that almost wasn’t his.

If you’re looking for a cat who will greet you like you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him — and live his life boldly, diapers and all — Slinky is waiting 🐾💛
