Meet Slick

Meet Slick! Slick was part of a TNR project. He was young and at first we thought due to his behavior he was better off placed in The Fence a protected area with other cats outdoors. But in time Slick began to show an interest in human interaction and was placed in foster care where he has blossomed. He has a great personality and once he gets to know you he seeks pets and enjoys being around other cats. Slick recently shared another side of himself with us while we were caring for a kitten we had taken in. Slick is often found playing with Bucky (check out Bucky's profile on Petfinder!) It is heartwarming to see them play and for Slick to be so attentive towards Bucky. Slick does not like to be picked up but follows his foster mom around the house and has the cutest meow to get your attention... he often does this meowing while in another room to see if he can get your attention! Slick will need a patient adopter that is ok with not being able to pick him up. Who knows with time and patience with the purrfect human this too could change.

Looking to adopt a kitten or kittens? Ask about our Foster-To-Adopt Program! Kittens that are @ 8 weeks old can be placed into approved forever homes in a foster-to-adopt situation prior to adoption. To begin the process simply submit an adoption application located on our webpage at operationhood.org. Once we receive your application our Adoption Coordinator will contact you!

Adoption Fee's:
Under 6 months – $150.00
6 months to 1 year – $100.00
Over 1 year – $75.00

The Foster-to Adopt program is in place for two primary reasons:

1.) To monitor the dynamics with other pets and make sure the addition to the family is a positive experience prior to the commitment to adopt.

2.) To allow the kitten(s) to be in and become comfortable with its’ forever home in cases where the animal is too young to be spayed or neutered. Once the kitten is of age and ready to be spayed/neutered we will arrange the appointment for you to take them in. There is not place like home to get lots of TLC and recovery is less stressful where you feel comfortable!

Please keep in mind the commitment when adopting kitten(s) as the the typical lifespan ranges somewhere between 13 and 17 years, according to the ASPCA. However, it isn't uncommon for indoor cats to live to at least 20+ years.

All cats adopted through Operation Hood have been or will be (depending on age) spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and receive FeLV/FIV tests, rabies vaccination, de-wormer, and flea & tick treatment.
