Sleeper's Story

Sleeper was found on a rough Newark street where many cats had to compete for meals and hazards lurked in every corner. He was a surprise sweetie pie -- our "sleeper hit" of that rescue operation.

He was a little thin -- but otherwise in fine shape for neutering and vaccinating and testing -- thankfully he tested negative for FIV and leukemia.

He started to show some signs of mouth pain and we discovered stomatitis -- an extreme degree of gingivitis. He'd probably had it for a while and he may have had some discomfort eating without letting us know right away. He's now had ALL his teeth removed and he's doing great! Very comfy and happy! (They do just fine eating both wet and dry food without any teeth.) He will likely not need mouth care again in the future.

His bloodwork looks great.

He's gained a couple pounds in foster care -- and he's looking forward to having his own space to get more exercise and streamline the waistline a bit, but his first priority is always to have a hug and a kiss before dining, so be prepared to pucker up!
