Skye's Story

Fluffy as a cloud and full of personality in a small package, Skye is the ultimate "helper"! She's a social butterfly who will march right up to you, meowing to announce her presence and demand some attention. She's curious and loves to be involved in everything you do, always eager to lend a paw in any task.

Skye is a playful spirit with a hunting streak, carrying around her favorite mouse toy and even sneakily pouncing on her good pal, Brooke. She's a big fan of dry crunchy treats most of all.

If you're looking for an outgoing, affectionate cat who loves to chat, play, and be right by your side, Skye is the one for you. She's ready to join a home where her curiosity and spunky personality will be adored.

Skye and Brooke could be adopted together, as solo kitties, or to homes with other FeLV+ cats. We think that either one of them would do fine with older, respectful kiddos who can be patient at first. Skye would thrive best with an adopter willing to start her off in one small room in their home, until she is comfortable and ready for more space.

Skye is estimated to be almost two years old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV-/FeLV+ (progressive). This chronic illness doesn't currently affect Skye's daily life much; however, the FeLV virus may eventually affect her health and lifespan, as FeLV impairs the cat's immune system. Becoming established with a vet supportive of treating an FeLV+ cat, controlling secondary infections, and treating other illnesses as they arise is essential to maintaining an FeLV+ kitty.

Are you looking to adopt an adorable tinycat? (Or two?) Consider Skye, or Skye and Brooke together!

Trash Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Typically the potential adopter reaches out either with or without a specific cat in mind. We will usually ask questions about the type of cat the adopter is interested in (any preferences as far as gender, color, personality, etc.), as well as the sort of home the cat would be going to (any kids, other pets, etc.). If we have a cat or kitten who would be a good fit, the adopter can fill out our application for that animal. If not, the person can still fill out the app, and we will keep them if mind if we end up with a cat who we think would be a good fit. Once the app is reviewed/approved (including checking vet and landlord references), we would chat any further with the adopter if needed, and then schedule a meet and greet with them with the cat or kitten. If the animal and the adopter hit it off, the adopter would then fill out our adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take the cat or kitten home!
