Sitka's Story

Introducing Sitka! This little dude had a rough start having been abandoned in the woods along with his siblings. When he arrived in the rescue, Sitka was pretty ill but has turned the corner and has a clean bill of health now! He has been the shy kitten of his litter and the one who has taken the most time to adjust to indoor life and to human interaction. He is finally learning how to play with toys and other kittens and seems to enjoy watching the world go by from his window seat. Sitka is friendly but is still wary of people, so I suspect he will take some time to warm up to his forever family and his new home. However, he is very cute and enjoys ear scratches and belly rubs and tolerates being picked up and held. With time, he will relax and realize that he is safe and it's okay to trust people again. Sitka is pretty attached to his sister, Juneau, so we would love to see them adopted together, but it is not required. He does get along with other cats and dogs, but, true to his personality, takes a minute to warm up. He is estimated to have been born March 29, 2026.

All of our cats and kittens are examined by a veterinarian, Feline Leukemia/FIV tested, vaccinated for Rabies and FVRCP, dewormed for internal parasites, checked for external parasites, current on heartworm prevention/flea control, and have been spayed/neutered. Adoption fee is $120.

If you are interested in this sweetie, please fill out the adoption application on our website http://www.homewardboundwv.org

For more information, please email us at adopt@homewardboundwv.org

Thank you!
