Sir Teddy Chonk's Story

Meet Sir Teddy Chonk. Eight years old. Former street cat. Professional squeaky greeter. Giant teddy bear disguised as a tough guy. Sir Teddy spent YEARS roaming a neighborhood, surviving the heat, cold, rain, hunger, and all the hardships that come with life outside. By the time a kind neighbor stepped in to help him, his body told the story of survival. Yuba County and veterinary clinics reportedly recommended euthanasia. But then he came to FieldHaven. And underneath the scars, squinty eyes, and weathered tomcat exterior, we found one of the sweetest souls imaginable. Sir Teddy had severe entropion in all four eyelids Ś a painful condition where the eyelids curl inward, causing the lashes to rub against the eyes constantly. He underwent corrective surgery, which is why his eyes still have that permanently squinty, sleepy look that somehow only makes him more adorable. And despite everything he's been through? He LOVES people. This boy adores affection. He squeaks little greetings when he sees you. He melts for pets. He loves treats, attention, lap time, conversations, and simply being near his humans. After years outside fighting to survive, all Sir Teddy wants now is softness, safety, and love. He's also FIV+. And let's talk about that for a second Ś because cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy lives. Sir Teddy is proof. He's playful, loving, social, and full of life. What Sir Teddy needs most is not fear or stigma. He needs someone willing to love him. Teddy Chonk would thrive in a home where he is the only pet, somewhere he can get all the attention this spoiled king desires! Right now, Sir Teddy is still working through some tummy issues, so he is not officially cleared for adoption yet Ś BUT he is available as a Foster-to-Adopt, giving someone the chance to help him transition into the loving, single pet home and indoor life he has waited so long to experience. Sir Teddy Chonk survived outside for years. Now it's finally his turn to be someone's baby. Interested in meeting Sir Teddy? He is currently at FieldHaven Feline Center in rural Lincoln.
