Silas & TomTom's Story
Silas is 10 years old and a fun-sized dairy cow. He does not have a mean bone in his body; he is a gentle giant! He enjoys being petted and showing us his big belly. He is a chunky boy and twelve pounds of love.

When the shelter is quiet, Silas plays with toys alongside his brother, TomTom. He will stretch big and tall against his scratching post and reach for the sky. He loves all varieties of toys, but his favorites are the crinkly ones. Silas has a sardine he paws around throughout the night, and we always make sure it is with him.

The joy Silas experiences today is something he never had before. Every day, he gets to snuggle on a clean blanket with TomTom, and they lean their heads together as they fall asleep. These bonded boys have been together since birth and adore each other. They would do best in a home with other cats, and of course, plenty of toys.

Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our cats. We do not adopt first come; we always select the best placement for our animals. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a cat.

Our adoption fee is $50 for cats. This includes FIV/FeLV testing, flea/tick preventatives, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter if six months or older. If they are too young, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.

For more info on our shelter and available pets, check us out online:

West Milford Animal Shelter Society
Lycosky Drive, West Milford, NJ 07480
(973) 728-2859

Visiting Hours
Mon - Fri: 10 - 1
Wed Night: 7:30 - 9
Weekends: 10 - 3
