She would love to be adopted with one of his siblings.

Personality: Sierra was the last holdout of her feral litter—the little rebel who wasn’t quite convinced that being a pet was all it was cracked up to be. When she first arrived at the rescue, she came armed with hisses and claws and a very clear opinion about personal space!

But somewhere along the way, Sierra discovered that the pet life might actually be pretty great. These days, she’s showing us her playful, quirky side and is learning that humans can be trusted—and that love and attention aren’t so bad after all.

Sierra has a gorgeous coat and a unique personality to match. She accepts affection on her terms and, when she feels comfortable, is happy to return the love. She’ll need someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her set the pace.

With the right person, patience, and plenty of encouragement, we know Sierra will truly shine. She may make you work a little for her heart—but earning the trust of this formerly feral girl will make every cuddle and every little breakthrough that much sweeter.

Other household pets: Sierra gets along with other friendly cats. He has never encountered a dog but would most likely get along fine with a friendly, non-aggressive dog.

Adoption Policies: It is the policy of the Animal Welfare League of Frederick County that adopters agree to keep the cat indoors only, feed a high quality wet-food only diet (no dry), and never declaw the animal. Not agreeing to any one of these is a deal breaker. Applicants must give their current Vet (if applicable) permission to speak to our adoption coordinator during the application process. Adoptions are not same day and are not first-come, first-serve. AWLFC tries to find the best fit for each kitten.

Please contact catladykim51@gmail.com with any questions and to discuss next steps and making arrangements to meet her.

PLEASE NOTE: The foster mom for this kitty will be out of town from September 11 to October 1. During this time the Sierra will be living temporarily at the Animal Welfare League of Frederick County, 1202 E Patrick St #13a, Frederick, MD 21701, and can be visited without an appointment on Saturdays & Sundays from Noon to 4pm.
