Sienna's Story

Hi! I am Sienna. I am an older lady that has years of wisdom behind my soulful eyes. I came to the shelter after being left to fend for myself in the outdoor elements. It appears I was someone's kitty at one point as I was spayed but how I found to be left fending for myself remains to be unknown.

I am an older senior cat - with lots of love to give. I hope no one overlooks me simply because of my age. I still deserve all of the love and attention that one would give to a younger kitten. I am hoping you will agree and consider giving me a safe, comfortable and happy home for my golden years.

My home does have some requirements. I do well with other cats - as long as they aren't too rambunctious and in my face frequently. I may bat them away or hiss if it becomes too much. I have been through a lot in this world as as result, I am easily anxious and easily stressed. For this reason, I need to be in an adult only home OR a home with older kids. Young kids would stress me out and it would not be healthy for me to coexist.

My health - my blood work all came back healthy and within normal limits, without any concern for my organs. At some point of my life, I most likely developed pneumonia and it was not treated. While I survived, the infection might have caused the upper part of my one lung to scar over. Nothing anyone can do and it does not seem to cause me discomfort. I do have to work a little harder at breathing so my heart rate & respiration rate might be slightly elevated. Other than that - I have a clean bill of health.

I am spayed and I am up to date on my age appropriate vaccines. I have been tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia. I am negative for both. I receive routine flea and tick preventatives, monthly as well as some well deserved pampering periodically: brushing, nail trims & ear cleaning.

My ideal home includes a home where I can get lots of love but also be able to exist and do my own thing. I need a quiet, calm and relaxed home with very little activity. I do not know how I would do with dogs. A calm, mild mannered dog might be ok - but it's hard to say. I do fine with other kitties. I would do best in a home with older kids (10+) or no kids at all. I cannot be in a home with younger kids as the stress would be too great for my physically & mentally.

I need a family that is caring, compassionate and loving. I want a family that is patient, willing to give me what I need: an indoor home, with a warm bed, plenty of good food & clean water, and lots of pets and love.

My shelter family works tirelessly to ensure I and my friends go to the right family. If you feel that person is you, I'd love to meet you. Please submit an application if you'd like to be considered becoming my family!
