Shirley's Story

PLEASE NOTE: You must complete an ADOPTION APPLICATION in order to receive a response. https://www.homeatlastrescue.ca/adoption-form/, or click on the "MORE ABOUT HOME AT LAST RESCUE" button in the bottom right for a direct link.

Meet Shirley, a sweet little momma who’s ready to leave motherhood behind and finally be a kitten herself. At just one year old, Shirley has already raised five babies. She was very protective of them, so we haven’t had the chance to see her playful side yet. She’s been far too busy being a mom! What we do know is that Shirley has a lovely, friendly disposition. She’s very sweet with her foster mom and friends, and she’ll happily seek out pets and attention. She’s not quite a lap cat, but she enjoys affection on her own terms and is perfectly fine being picked up. Shirley is also a big fan of wet food - Fancy Feast Medleys, both pâté and shreds, are definite favourites. Toys haven’t really been on her radar yet, but after spending her young life raising five kittens, who can blame her? We suspect there’s still plenty of kitten in this petite girl waiting to come out. Around other cats, she can be a bit of a momma bear, so her feelings about other cats will need a little more time to figure out. Since we don’t know how she is with other cats, Shirley can be adopted on her own with someone who can spend time with her.

Shirley came to us from Animal Services with her five babies. She was a great mom to her little family. Now that her babies are ready to head off on their own, Shirley deserves the same opportunity in her own forever home at last.

This sweet girl has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. All she needs is someone willing to give her the time and space to show them just how lovely she can be. She’s ready for a new chapter where she can relax, be spoiled, discover what she likes, and simply enjoy being a young cat. And maybe discover what her favourite toys will be!

As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. For example, if it is stipulated that the cat needs another cat buddy at home and you do not have one, you may not receive a response. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first-come, first-served.
