Considering Shelbee’s history, this little girl has made leaps and bounds in recent weeks!
Shelbee came to the Warwick Valley Humane Society almost 4 years ago in 2017 after being rescued from a horrible hoarding situation where she was living in unhealthy and filthy conditions with 12 other cats. During her time in the shelter she has been extremely shy. Even with all the efforts of the staff, Shelbee spent most of those 4 years in her cat bed. It is understandable that she has been bypassed by many potential adopters. Recently she was taken in by a foster to help her come out of her shell. Shelbee’s transformation has been nothing short of remarkable. Shelbee proves to be a smart, playful, engaged and entertaining young lady, who loves her foster brother! She is also learning target and clicker training. Shelbee is an A+ student for sure! She will follow the target stick anywhere including right into her carrier and up on her foster mom’s lap for a petting session. Target training is a great foundation for a communication pathway for Shelbee and her human. It helps build a relationship while keeping Shelbee engaged and active. And now she ready to learn fun cat tricks with her future forever person!
Shelbee has had a hard start to her kitty life and she is so ready to begin a new chapter in her forever home. This sweet girl will bring much joy and fun and love into your life!
