Shaggy's Story
Shaggy is a 3 month old kitten with four siblings (Scooby, Scrappy, Daphne, Fred). He was raised in a house full of kittens, cats and a small dog so he is used to a lot of playmates and an active household. He is very playful and inquisitive.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies), flea/tick preventatives, FIV/FeLV test, dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).

We require kittens to be adopted in pairs unless you have another playful kitten/young cat currently in your home.

As part of our adoption process, we will check the vetting history of any past or current pets looking for regular history of annual exams and up to date vaccines and other care as recommended by the doctors. We will also check property ownership or verify landlord guidelines for a rental and complete a public records check for anyone over age 18 in the home.

Resident cats must show a history of a negative FeLV (feline leukemia test) on file while maintaining an indoor only status.

Shaggy is neutered, microchipped, up to date on core vaccinations, FeLV/FIV tested, and also has had fecal testing completed.

Adoption fee: $260 + tax

Email to contact: adopt@newleashrescue.org

Our volunteers do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about an animals personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
