Sebastian's Story

Meet Sebastian! This 2-year-old boy is absolutely STUNNING… even if his face says otherwise. Sebastian has what we like to call a permanently crabby expression—like he just read a bad Yelp review—but don’t be fooled. It’s not his fault… that’s just his face. Underneath that “I’m mildly annoyed at all times” look is an incredibly sweet, affectionate, people-loving cat.

Sebastian is litter trained and fully vetted, and ready to find a home where he can be the center of your world. He’s not a big fan of other animals, so he would do best as your one-and-only pet—but he will reward you with endless affection.

Sebastian is FIV positive, which simply means he has a feline immune virus. Many FIV+ cats live long, happy, completely normal lives with no special care beyond regular vet checkups and a healthy indoor lifestyle. FIV is only spread through deep bite wounds (not through casual contact like sharing food bowls, grooming, or cuddling), so it’s not something to fear—just something to be aware of.

Picture this: you’re winding down for the night, and Sebastian hops up, settles in next to you, and gives you that signature ‘grumpy’ look… before immediately melting into a snuggly, purring companion.

Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus's Adoption Policy
The first step in meeting our adoptable animals is the breed/species-specific application at www.ILDobeRescue.com. We do a vet check, landlord/association verification, and home visit to ensure a permanent placement for our wonderful animals. Thank you for considering rescue! We look forward to working with you. IDR+ is a network of foster homes; therefore, we do not have a location to visit. The first step in meeting our adoptable animals is the specific application at www.ILDobeRescue.com for a Doberman, Plus dog (non-Dobe), or cat. Approved adopters are then directed to our foster homes.
