Scout's Story
The sassiest of cats has entered the Condo Villa at HSHP!
Meet Scout! Scout is a 1 year old female Domestic Short Hair. She found herself at HSHP through no fault of her own. She had been rescued as a kitten and was very loved, but her owner's landlord said she had to go and they had to find a new place for her.
Having lived with one family her whole life, Scout was pretty unsure about us when she first arrived. This place can be super stressful for newcomers, and Scout just needed a few days to get a feel for things. She is starting to come around as she gets used to us and is glad to receive loving pets, but please go slow when you meet her so you're not overwhelming her.
Scout is a true queen and she knows it! She has no problem communicating her boundaries and making sure that they're upheld. We can't blame her, as there's nothing wrong with making sure your space is respected! Scout is a very expressive cat, and when she's upset, you will see those gorgeous green eyes glaring daggers at whoever has most recently annoyed her. Currently, her least favorite person is the HSHP staff member that gave her her first round of vaccines.
In her previous home, Scout did live with children and adults. She did do well with them, however, we would suggest she go to a home with children who are old enough to understand her space and not grab her while she is going through this difficult transition. Scout has not lived with other animals and from what we have seen, she may be rather selective about what other cats or animals she lives with. As Scout is starting to adjust we are seeing that affectionate side of her come out, and it will just take patience to fully gain the heart of this pretty lady!
Scout has received her first round of vaccinations and is litter box trained. She's ready to escape the stressful shelter and be back in a home where she can feel true love again! If you think Scout could be the kitty for you, come out and meet her today!
