Savannah and Sophia's Story

Introducing Savannah and Sophia! These two beautiful seal point Ragdoll cats are bonded housemates, ages 6 and 8 years old and must be adopted together!

This lovely duo sadly lost their mom to cancer late last year. Thankfully the owner had created a plan for her cats before she passed away and they are now living with a friend until a new home is found. The girls are used to each other and do get along (with an occasional spat) but are not used to sharing their space with other cats. They should be the only cats in their new home to lower their level of stress. The good news is they are used to sharing their home with a dog and are getting along well with the dog in their foster home!

The girls are sweet and low key and as most cats who have lost their home, they had exhibited stress when first acclimating to the change! They also required grooming due to significant matting that developed when the owner could no longer brush them towards the end of her life. They are simply a "purrfect" pair of kitties available for adoption in NJ!

Savannah and Sophia are fixed, fully vaccinated (1 year rabies and 2 x FVRCP/distemper), they are blood tested negative for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) and FLeV (feline leukemia), they are microchipped, and treated for all parasites. We have had them thoroughly vetted including blood work and both cats are healthy without any health concerns.

To be considered for adoption for any of our available cats, you must submit an adoption application found on our website below;

https://savingfancycats.org/adoption-application

We read every application that is submitted and it can take us 2-4 days to respond to most applicants. If we believe you may be a potential match for the cat(s) we will respond to you via email. This email will detail all the next steps required in order for you to be officially approved as an adopter. Our email can easily be flagged as spam/junk so please check those folders for our response.

We will ask all potential adopters who pass the first step to submit/complete the following;
-2+ personal references
-1+ veterinary reference
-home interior photos/videos or in person tour
-your building's pet policy from management or your landlord (if you rent)
-1+ alternative designated caretaker(s) for the cat(s)
-scheduled phone interview with a member of our team

*General inquiries about any cat cannot be responded to without an application submitted first. If the cat is on petfinder.com the cat is still available.

Adoption fee is non-negotiable.

What your (tax deductible) adoption fee/donation covers:

Spay/Neuter surgery
Full vaccinations (2 x distemper/FVRCP and feline rabies)
Blood Tests - FIV, FLeV, Heartworm, in some cases additional blood work
Anti-Parasitics - all cats are dewormed, treated for fleas/ticks, ear mites.
Microchipped - All cats have a registered microchip
Travel Passes/Fees- the adoption fee also pays for the cat's travel from Egypt or other country to the USA.

***Can't adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring one or more of the cats on our petfinder page so that we can assist our rescue partners with food and litter and proper veterinary care.

Felines For Adoption Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Adopting a cat from Felines For Adoption Cat Rescue (dba Saving Fancy Cats) 1. If you see a cat that is posted on petfinder.com, they are still available for adoption - but the cat could have potential adopters currently in the vetting process. If you're interested in the cat and want to be considered, please simply complete our adoption application. https://savingfancycats.org/adoption-application 2. We are an all volunteer organization and have limited staff to manage the amount of adoption inquiries and individual questions we receive on all of our adoptable cats and therefore we do not respond to emails or phone calls about the cats posted unless there is an adoption application sent in first. https://savingfancycats.org/adoption-application 3. We review applications on a first come, first serve basis, but we match cats based upon the first best match. It may take 3-5 business days for us to respond to your application. We will not respond to your application if we have either; found an adopter, or believe your home/situation is not the best fit for the cat. Our goal is to ensure the highest possibility of a successful adoption that lasts the cat's entire lifetime. **Please be sure to check your spam or junk email folders for our response to your application as many times our email is flagged! 4. We will request the following from all applicants before you are approved as an adopter and/or meet the cats in person; - a virtual or in-person tour or photos of the interior of your home. - 2 personal and 1 veterinary reference -rental/lease agreements (if you rent) or HOA pet agreements. -at least one alternative party who would be responsible for the cat(s) if you were unable to care for them short or long term. -you must have the capability of keeping the newly adopted cat(s) in a room with a door in order to be separated from the rest of your home and any other pet for at least 14 days.
