Sammy's Story

PLEASE NOTE: You must complete an ADOPTION APPLICATION in order to receive a response. https://www.homeatlastrescue.ca/adoption-form/, or click on the "MORE ABOUT HOME AT LAST RESCUE" button in the bottom right for a direct link.

Is your favourite guy the shy, quiet type? A little mysterious? The kind of guy who doesn't say much at first, but then suddenly you're wondering where all that personality was hiding? If so, Sammy is the cat of your dreams. Sammy is two years old, and he's going to charm your socks off once he gets to know you. And then... watch out! He's non-stop, especially when he has a cat buddy or two to play with. Sammy has discovered just how much fun playtime can be, especially with catnip mice - the ultimate "let's get together and have some fun" toy! No catnip mice? No problem. Wand toys, springs, and balls all bring out his playful side too. When playtime is done, Sammy loves to be pet, have his ears rubbed and be brushed. He is really starting to enjoy the company of human friends! Give him plenty of one-on-one attention, and he'll happily become your "I'm just gonna sit beside you and love you" kind of cat. Sammy loves the company of other cats and he MUST have another friendly cat buddy in his new home. Having another confident cat around helps him feel safe, brings out his playful side, and reminds him that life is pretty great.

Sammy was found as a stray after showing up at a managed colony. His finder recognized right away that he was friendly and far too social to spend his life outdoors, so he came to us.

Sammy might spend his first few days perfecting his hiding skills, but don't let that fool you. Good things come to those who wait, and Sammy is one of those very good things. Once he feels safe, you'll get to see the sweet, silly, playful little guy who's been there all along.

As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. For example, if it is stipulated that the cat needs another cat buddy at home and you do not have one, you may not receive a response. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first-come, first-served.
