Meet Samantha (RIP) leaving her up for a short memorial period

We lost Samantha- here's a letter to Samantha her foster mom wrote to honor Samantha:
Dear Samantha
Four days have passed by since we went for a ride down Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu CA. The day was the perfect day for a ride along the coast. The sun shone through the front windshield bathing the big cuddler cushion in a swath of warm light, warming your old bones. You were curled in the calming cushion, comfy, slightly embraced by a soft fuzzy red blanket. Breathing softly, you were purring. Your fur was soft to my touch. I ran my hand along the length of your body, hoping you'd remember what it was like when your mom would groom you as a kitten.
As we drove along, I remembered when I first meet you, a little shy tiny golden tabby, peeking out of a cat condo. Your eyes big. I walked past you and you reached out and tapped my arm! Okay I thought to myself this girl wants my attention, gently I rubbed your nose with my index finger. That was the beginning of our love. Little love nibbles, lots of purrs, a greedy girl for brushing. Head bumps and purrs.
You had many friends when I first met you. Humans and felines. Slowly as time passed the humans who would visit your cattery stopped coming by and each of your feline family members slowly went to watch you from above, little twinkling stars in the sky. We felt them watching over the cattery, we knew they were slow blinking in pleasure to see the ones left behind were still loved. All their names are one to me, "loved by me".
Our journey continued, Jude, ah Jude-he had your heart. The pictures my memory took of the two of you together makes my heart ache. Full length body rubs, head bumps, the occasional tapping of noses. Yes, he loved you. He watched over you-even though he was ill, you were his concern. True love. Jude, he could only leave once he knew you'd have people to watch over you- Roshan and I promised him we'd be there for you-always. Wrapped in arms full of love, Jude became a star in the sky.
Honoring my promise to Jude, you moved to my house and in with BEE. True BEE wasn't Jude. However BEE was just who you needed. He loved you from the start. Now BEE had to straighten up his act to win you over. Paying more attention to his grooming and diet BEE transformed himself for you. AND just like Jude before him BEE kept his eyes on you. BEE knew you needed him, you gave him purpose. And Samantha, BEE gave you love. BEE would wrap himself around you, purring to comfort you. BEE was there for you in a way I never could be. I'm happy you had BEE and that BEE had you.
Samantha you were the bravest little soldier, purring as Ingemar and I gave you fluids. Spoon feeding you, food all over your face, I wondered if that's how you looked as kitten who had greedily slurped up their food.
The ride in the car, you more comfortable than one could imagine, peaceful and ready. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my hand as I was petting you. Never taking my hand off of you as we drove along. Cherishing this quiet time and realizing you reached for the sun as I felt a warmth come over me, a comforting warmth and then a little tiny purr as if you were telling me okay, you'll be fine-you let yourself go into the sun. And became a tiny brilliant star in the sky. Roshan was there, you know that-you waited and sent her some of your light letting her know it's okay.
Every day I miss you. I walk into my office and BEE looks at me, he misses you, Ingemar misses you too, he loved how you'd lean out of your tower vying for his attention, leaning out even further should he have overlooked giving you rubs and head bumps. We hope you knew how much we loved you. And how Roshan loved you , her special tiny girl.
There is a poem I love, a quote from the poem I'd like to share with you " For in his morning orisons he loves the sun and the sun loves him." Samantha I'm happy the sun loved you and you had a chance to fly towards the sun. I hope your star is close to the sun so you'll always be warm.
I love you.

Our original post-
Meet Samantha, a golden tabby with white socks and bib. Samantha has been living at Fauna for about 8 years!!! Samantha is a bit reserved however once you befriend her she's attentive and friendly. Recently we discovered her favorite treat is a liquid treat in a tube -she'll lick the treat off your fingers if you're so inclined...more more more, she said or it was meower meower meower? Samantha was an owned cat and came to Fauna ( along with many of her housemates) due to the owner not being able to care for so many cats. Samantha is a young senior , recently passed her senior vet check up with flying colors, she's current on vaccinations, is spayed and litter box trained. We'd love to see Samantha adopt a human of her own to snuggle up with and pamper! Please consider giving this girl a cozy home.

Sadly we lost Samantha's long time companion and love, Jude on Jan 2, 2022. Samantha is now alone and we'd love to get her into a home where she can live out the remainder of her senior years in comfort, with plentiful pets and cuddles. Samantha loves when you pet her with both hands at once. She'll reward you with lots of kisses and head bumps.
