Sam's Story

Sam originally came to HHR in 2015, just hours before being euthanized at an overcrowded municipal shelter. He was adopted quickly by the most amazing man and was loved unconditionally for many years. Sam's dad died unexpectedly a few years back, and we were assured the rest of the family was committed to Sam (and his housemate Calypso, also HHR alum).

A few weeks ago, the family showed up with Sam and Calypso unannounced and surrendered them back to us. Neither had seen a year in several years- not since their dad passed away. Both cats were understandably upset and scared. After some time in foster care and a few vet visits, both are ready for forever homes.

Sam is about 13 years old now. He is neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, feline leukemia/FIV negative, and is current on flea/tick preventative. He recently had senior bloodwork and all checked out great. Sam and Calypso are not bonded, but would be a good pair for a family looking for two cats. They have lived with small dogs.

Interested in meeting Sam?
