SAM's Story
This sweet Tuxedo kitty has the most unusual face. He is black with a white chest, paws, and in a perfect white triangle around his nose. Kinda looks like a mask for a kid dressing as a cat for Halloween!for handouts. This sweet kitty just showed up one day and hung around a neighborhood asking for handouts. Was he lost? abandoned? or born in a feral colony? We do not know. Fortunately, he showed up at the right house, and the kind person brought him to the shelter before life on the streets started to wear this vagabond down.

SAM came in scared and did not ask for pets, which is understandable since he immediately was given flea/tick meds, meds for worms (standard for every cat that comes in without vet records) plus he was neutered! Who wouldn't be scared? But SAM soon accepted being petted and having his head and chin scratched. SAM spends a lot of time on top of the kennels (especially when one of the Divas are on the table), where he loves attention and will reach out and pat your head or take you hand if you stop petting him. We do not know what SAM has known in his short life, so we do not know his impressions of dogs, cats, or children. He does seem to be ok with the other shelter cats, and he is young enough to adapt to a non-aggressive dog or cat. SAM also is young enough to enjoy playtime. He should be a fun playmate for children old enough to know how to use gentle touch, no squeezing hugs, and not to force SAM to be held if he doesn't want it. Holding any cat that wants down is, to them, trapping or restricting them, and they will respond by bites and scratches. You cannot herd a cat to go where you want and you can't force a cat to do anything. 😸

Handsome SAM is young and has a long life ahead of him. It may have started out rough, but he is destined for the life of a pampered pet, not a street cat! He just needs a family who wants to spoil him and grow old with him!!

DOB-06/2025 Entered Shelter-06/2026

If you would like to adopt SAM, please visit the shelter during Adoption Hours, Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Saturdays, 10:00am to 1:00pm.
