Salvador is an approximately 2.5 year old, neutered male, Domestic Shorthair cat who came to us as a stray. Salvador has a few medical problems, but that sure doesn't keep him down! He's shy at first, but he loves being pet by the people he has warmed up to. Butler County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is quite thorough. We require potential adopters to fill out an application. This application includes listing if they rent or own their home, we verify that they either own or have permission to adopt from landlord they rent from. We require all current animals in the house to be up to date on all required vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adopting from us. They must provide a veterinary reference if they have owned an animal in the past 5 yrs so we can verify they were not negligent pet parents. We also require two references (must not live in same household, and only 1 can be a family member). We conduct dog intro's here at the facility to ensure our animals are going home to a welcome environment. Sometimes multiple visits are needed. We also ask them if they have any topics they are concerned about or need more information about.
