Salem's Story

Salem is a loving, affectionate boy with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles and treats! He's happiest when he has his own cozy blanket to curl up next to you in. Salem loves birdwatching from the window, playing fetch with toy balls or crumpled up paper, and soaking up all the attention he can get. He doesn't take long to warm up to other cats and truly thrives with his brother and best friend, Kacang, by his side. <br/>If you're looking for a playful, snuggly best friend who will happily keep you company (and maybe ask for a treat or two), Salem is your cat.

Contra Costa Humane Society's Adoption Policy
CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues.  Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted.  Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore.  Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep. If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted! Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 171 Mayhew Way, Suite 101 in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions on Saturday, Sunday & Mo
