Sadie's Story

Meet Sadie (formerly Spooky), a charming 15-year-old "doll-faced" Persian cat with a unique nose that sticks out farther than typical Persians. This lovely lady spent over a decade as a breeder cat in a backyard breeding situation before the operation was shut down due to legal issues. Unfortunately, Spooky was left behind because of her age, but we welcomed her into our rescue to give her the golden years she deserves.

After some time to decompress, Sadie's delightful personality blossomed and she was adopted by a local couple. After over 6 months, the adopters made the difficult decision to return Sadie due to conflicts with resident cats. Heartbreakingly, Sadie was bullied by several other cats for over 10 years in her previous situation, destroying Sadie's confidence with other cats. The decision has been made to prioritize her comfort and rehome her to an only cat home to live out her much-earned golden years. Thankfully, her former adopters are fostering her until a better placement can be found to avoid returning this old gal to a shelter environment.

She's a vocal, goofy, and affectionate cat who can be a bit shy at first but warms up beautifully with patience. Due to her background, we recommend that she go to a home with previous cat experience.

Sadie has comprehensive veterinary care with us and her former adopters, including a surgical hernia repair and dental surgery with extractions. Her blood work results were so impressive that the entire vet hospital was amazed, especially for a 15-year-old cat! Sadie still has many good years ahead and is ready to find a loving home where she can truly enjoy her golden years. If you have room in your heart and home for this sweet mama, Sadie is ready to bring joy and companionship into your life.

Sadie is FRONT DECLAWED, contributing to her issues with other cats. In the presence of other cats, she hides and does not use common resources out of fear (litter box, food, water, etc). When she is in her own room without other cats, she has no litter box accidents or issues using her resources. As a geriatric cat, we consider her to be special needs, as she would greatly benefit from veterinary visits every 6 months. At this time, she has no long-term health issues noted.
