Sadie's Story
**WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE: To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in.

Apply to adopt with our online cat application: https://fs17.formsite.com/waverlypetrescue/form4/index.html

Please go to our web-site to learn more about Waverly Pet Rescue: www.waverlypetrescue.com

Sadie has been let down by humans too many times.

Here is Sadie's timeline.
Sadie's was originally born in a foster home on May 9th, 2016. Her mama was a pregnant stray Siamese cat that we took in.
Sadie was adopted in 2016 but returned in 2021 because she did not get along with the other cats in the home. Instead of figuring out a way to make it work, they got rid of Sadie.
Then Sadie was adopted in December 2023 by a family. And they returned her in April 2024. This sweet cat was just returned to us again by her adopters because of a human family members health issue. Instead of looking to Sadie for love and comfort, her "family" got rid of her. She is back living in a foster home.

Sadie is back in foster home. She was extremely scared and hid for a long time the first time she came back. The 2nd times she came back to the same foster home, and it didn't take as long for her to not be scared. Sadie will need to be set up in a room alone when you adopt her and take her home. Sadie will need time to adjust and to settle in. It is super hard on any cat to lose their home. If you are not going to keep a cat for their WHOLE life, do not get one.

Sadie is up to date on shots, spayed, and tested FeLV / FIV negative.

Sadie will be 9 years old on May 9th, 2025. She weighs 10 pounds. She enjoys sitting on your lap once she gets to know you. She may be shy at first but wants she knows you she likes to cuddle on your lap. Sadie’s favorite place is to sit at the top of the cat tree and look out the window to watch the birds and squirrels. When she wants your attention, she’ll rub against your leg or meow loudly. She loves pets on her head. Sadie will need 2 litter boxes in her home. She likes to poop in one and urinate in the other. Sadie does not do well with other cats so needs a home with no other cats. She wants to be your one and only! Sadie would also be best with older children that know how to treat a cat properly and not pick on them.

Will someone please adopt Sadie and give her a true forever home? $95 adoption fee.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
