Ruby's Story
A gentle little tabby who blossoms with love—and believes every feather toy belongs to her.

Meet Ruby, a 5-month-old spayed brown tabby with a soft heart and a playful spirit waiting to shine. Ruby can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but with a bit of patience, she quickly reveals her sweet and affectionate side. Toys helped Ruby find her confidence in foster care—especially feather wands and spring toys. In fact, she has happily claimed them all as her personal property. Once playtime begins, Ruby's shy side melts away, and her curiosity and personality come out. After she feels comfortable, Ruby becomes a true cuddle bug who enjoys relaxing close to her people. Watching her grow from a cautious kitten into a loving companion has been a joy.

Ruby also has a sister, Sapphire, a beautiful silver tabby with white and a bold, outgoing personality. They are not required to be adopted together, but they do balance each other wonderfully—Ruby's gentle nature paired with Sapphire's confidence creates a perfect little Yin-and-Yang duo. She has also done well with other cats in her foster home.

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with their initial age-appropriate vaccinations. Kittens have an adoption fee of $200 each or $300 for a bonded pair. Kittens must be adopted in pairs unless there is another young, energetic cat in the home. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.
