Roxy's Story

Roxy: Sweet, vocal, bouncy people needed

Roxy's story: My person was evicted who saved me as a kitten 10 years ago. I loved with her and a kid until dooms day and she give me and one of my two roomates to a friend.

This friend kept us in the basement because they were allergic. Not a good fit in my opinion. After a week, they agreed, and my person took us back and brought us to Fitchburg Friends of Felines, where we got reunited with the other roommate of ours.

I like my new diggs, but I never liked either roommate. So it was bittersweet.

I am more of an independent girl. I like my foster mom, but she has cats. That cramps my space. I need my human all to myself.

I am the affectionate type and love attention. If you pick me up, I wrap my paws around your hands, put my head down and purr. my former person said not to pet near my tail, because I will swat to let you know I'm not a fan. But my foster took the chance, and I am not reactive. I like throwing curve balls.

I know my name and I am sometimes very vocal. Especially when I need my human. I call to them. If they don't answer, I call louder, and contiyto call until they come say hi. I may be a bit demanding, but I find it an enduring trait.

I sleep next to my human, or under the covers if they make a tent with their legs, or on my human on their chest, or I pretend a am my human 's halo around her head... So many options to be near my human.

I follow my human around during the day, am a total lap cat and plop down when my human does, and am all about my human. Who needs another kitty when you have me??? You don't! And I prefer that.

I can have some spice. Sometimes I may be swatty, usually when I disagree with a gesture you Mike, like picking me up to put me in a room with other cats I don't want to be in. But it is rare, and a cat savvy human will get my cues.

My male roommates I sweat at so they know who is boss. The females, I stay away from. I am small and they may give me a run for my money. I don't like them, either ,but I pick my battles.

My ideal home would be in a carless home so I am the one and only. I need my himans to give me lots of love and recognizes my limitations. I liked dogs, and I love people. I grew up with Princess and Bounce, but Bounce is annoying, Princess is fine, and these new cars at my foster home I steer clear of, but I am not bonded, so i am happy to be adopted solo.

Fitchburg Friends of Felines facilitates a foster to adopt program that places the intended adoptee with the potential adoptive family. This ensures that your feline companion is the perfect fit as well as provides support as you both transition into your new life together.

You can fill out an adoption application here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1685w60NjfU2eeE55Cd57TAaEZU7bERjyY825EMto48sTQw/viewform

Please reach out to Fitchburg Friends of Felines directly at 978-222-3170 or fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com with questions. Fitchburg Friends of Felines, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are required to have a solid character reference, vet reference, and a site visit which can be conducted virtually. Due to MA regulations, we cannot intake pets from out of state. We offer a foster to adopt program to guarantee the intended kitty is a good fit for your family. We also require that all adopters agree to return the kitty should the adopter no longer be able to care for him or her in the future, or an agreed to person is identified to continue care for this kitty. We are not a brick and mortar; all available cats are kept in foster homes. Therefore, we would need time to schedule a visit to meet a kitty. We are happy to travel to match the perfect kitty for your family. Our adoption fees are normally $250 per cat, $350 for specialty breeds or exotics, and $50 less per kitty if interested in multiples. For specific questions, or for an adoption application, please feel free to reach out to us directly: fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com or call our hotline: 978-222-3170
