Roxy's Story

Hi, my name is Roxy! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Bold, playful, affectionate, talkative, curious
-Can Live with Cats: No thanks. Roxy was surrendered for not getting along with the cat in her previous home. She will need to be your only feline friend.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks. Roxy is scared of dogs.
-Can Live with Kids: Roxy has never lived with children, but may be okay with respectful kids ages 12+. Initial meetings done here at WHS.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, Roxy has been indoor-only her whole life.
-History of Litter Box Issues: Yes, but it was thought to be a territorial behavior due to the presence of another cat in the home. Ask staff for more details.
-Energy Level: Medium
-Bite History: No
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No
Additional Information:
Roxy is a large and in charge lady looking for her perfect match! This sweet and sassy gal was surrendered to WHS for bullying the senior cat in her previous home. As it turns out, Roxy is more of an "only child" sorta cat - she prefers all the attention to be on her. Roxy is independent, but also super duper sweet. She enjoys affection, but prefers it to be on her terms. She has some strong boundaries (she doesn't like her belly or tail being touched) and will let you know when you've crossed them. Her perfect match is a cat-experienced person able to read her body language and respect those boundaries. If you do that, she will be your BFF!

According to Roxy's previous owner: "She is a very sweet, playful, curious cat. Loves to be with people. She is just a bit anxious & needs attention to feel secure.... I feel that Roxy would make a really great cat for someone if she's the only cat and gets plenty of attention & play time."

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
