Roxie's Story
Email adopt@newleashrescue.org to request a cat application, or pick one up at the store.

Roxie is 1-2 years and a small girl, weighing about 5 pounds. She was originally an unclaimed stray. She was pregnant when she first came to rescue but is now spayed and no more babies in her future.

She is very affectionate and really wants to be with her people. She loves soft food and churu treats! She very much wants to jump up on people and stretch out her front paws - you have to keep her nails trimmed short or she will constantly be getting caught on people's pants and shorts.

She's a really adaptable girl to new people and situations, but doesn't seem to care for some female cats.

She is happiest when she is the center of your universe!

As part of our adoption process, we will check the vetting history of any past or current pets looking for regular history of annual exams and up to date vaccines and other care as recommended by the doctors. We will also check property ownership or verify landlord guidelines for a rental and complete a public records check for anyone over age 18 in the home.

Resident cats must show a history of a negative FeLV (feline leukemia test) on file while maintaining an indoor only status.

Squash is spayed, microchipped, up to date on core vaccinations, FeLV/FIV tested.

Adoption fee: $260 cash, includes sales tax

Email to contact: adopt@newleashrescue.org

Our volunteers do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about an animals personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
