Rowena's Story

Meet Rowena, a young mother who's finally ready for a life of her own. Before coming to ARF, Rowena was surviving outdoors on her own. A local grassroots rescue noticed this sweet, friendly girl and safely brought her in, but quickly realized she had recently given birth and her kittens were nowhere to be found. Knowing her babies were still out there depending on her, the rescue made the compassionate decision to release Rowena so she could return to them. Thankfully, the little family resurfaced later and the rescue team was able to safely secure Rowena along with her three kittens: Sammi, Ruby and Dean. The entire family made their way to ARF, where Rowena settled into a loving foster home to safely raise her babies. She has done an incredible job caring for her kittens, despite being so young herself. Now that her babies have all found homes, it's Rowena's turn to find a forever home of her own. After everything she's been through, Rowena deserves a life filled with soft beds, full bowls, sunny windows, and people who will love and protect her. No more worrying about where her next meal will come from. No more dangerous street life. Just safety, comfort and affection. Rowena is a friendly, resilient girl who's ready to leave survival mode behind and finally be someone's beloved companion. She thrives on playtime and has a particular fondness for toys, showing her playful side. Rowena's affectionate demeanor shines when she's cuddling or being petted, always eager for a gentle touch. Her sociable personality makes her an ideal pet for someone who values the warmth and joy a pet can bring into a home. Could you be the happy ending this young momma has been waiting for? Rowena does have a plastic allergy which is no biggie - she's just not able to use plastic bowls or litter pans; stainless is always a good alternative. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Adopting an animal is an important decision that will affect you, your household, and the animal for many years to come. Our primary goal is to place animals in a loving and forever home. We strive for the best possible match between you and your new pet. If you do not find the right animal on your first visit to our shelter, please return another day when new animals will be available for adoption. We include as much information as we know about an animal on their information card. We are here to help make a wonderful new addition to your family. Adoption Requirements • Must be 18 years of age or older (seniors 65 and over qualify for the Seniors for Seniors program) • Must have valid ID with current address • Must provide landlord’s name and phone number (or copy of current lease) • All members of the household should be present • You must understand that Berea Animal Rescue must approve your adoption application If this is your first visit, please follow this link, bit.ly/ARFWaiver, to provide us with your household’s information and sign our Animal Contact Waiver. Fees The shelter accepts cash or Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. *If paying in cash, please understand that volunteers are unable to make change.
