Hi. I'm Rowan. Before we begin, let me just say: I have grown. I have evolved. I have blossomed...but I'm still Rowan. If you're looking for an instant lap cat who melts into your arms on day one... that's not me. But if you love a slow-burn friendship, a little mystery, and a cat who will eventually adore you in the most dramatic way possible, we should talk. When I first arrived in foster back in July, I was a full-time under-the-bed resident, you could say I was a Certified Under-the-Bed Creature. Humans? Suspicious. Trust? Optional. But thanks to very patient foster parents, I've truly blossomed. I am proud to report that I have become... well... kind of amazing. I now enjoy pets, cozying up next to my people, and even becoming a lap cat, still on my terms. I still greet change or sudden movements with the occasional hiss, but honestly, it's just how I communicate my big feelings. These days, I keep my fosters laughing constantly. I'm a master of fetch, a relentless attacker of feet under blankets, and a pro at demanding affection the moment I decide I want it. I love springs, ball toys, feather wands, and dragging my prized toys off to my secret hideouts. I'll still do some hiding now and then, but once I settle in, I'm full of sweetness, silliness, and surprising confidence. I'm looking for a calm, patient home where I can continue blossoming at my own pace. A respectful kitty roommate is fine; I only hiss at humans, rarely at other cats. If you see a cat or dog on our website that you are interested in, please fill out our cat adoption survey or dog adoption survey and a C.A.R.E. adoption counselor will contact you to answer any of your questions and to set up a meet and greet with the pet.
