Meet Rosie — Ready for the Safe, Loving Forever Home She Deserves <br/><br/>Rosie is a beautiful, purebred Brown Tabby Maine Coon who is only three years old. She is affectionate, sweet, and ready to begin the best chapter of her life—with a family of her very own.<br/><br/>Rosie previously lived with elderly owners who were no longer able to provide the environment and care she needed. We believe the stress she experienced in that home contributed to litter-box problems, which eventually resulted in her being surrendered to a shelter.<br/><br/>But since Rosie arrived at Merlin’s Hope Ragdoll Rescue, we have discovered something very important:<br/><br/>Rosie has not had a single litter-box accident.<br/><br/>In a quiet, low-stress environment where she feels safe and secure, Rosie has done beautifully. We have also had a urinalysis performed to help rule out a medical reason for her previous litter-box problems.<br/><br/>When Rosie came to us, she was severely underweight and extremely protective of her food. For approximately the first 72 hours, she wanted to eat almost constantly. We don’t know exactly what happened in her previous home, but her behavior made us concerned that she may not always have felt secure about having enough food available.<br/><br/>That is no longer something Rosie has to worry about.<br/><br/>She is safe. She has plenty to eat. She is receiving the care she needs. And, most importantly, she is learning that she can relax.<br/><br/> What kind of home does Rosie need?<br/><br/>Rosie is a lovely, affectionate girl who enjoys people, but we believe she will be happiest as the only cat in her home. After the uncertainty she has experienced, she deserves a peaceful environment where she doesn’t have to compete with another cat for food, attention, space, or resources.<br/><br/>We are looking for someone who will give Rosie stability, patience, security, and lots of love.<br/><br/>Because Rosie has already lost one home, we will be very selective about her adoption. We aren’t simply looking for someone willing to take her.<br/><br/>We are looking for Rosie’s person.<br/><br/>Someone who understands that changing homes can be stressful for a cat and will give her the time she needs to settle in. Someone who will provide a calm environment, consistent routine, good nutrition, and veterinary care. Most of all, someone who understands that adopting Rosie means making a commitment to her for the rest of her life.<br/><br/>Rosie is fully vetted and ready for adoption. At only three years old, she has so much life ahead of her. She has already shown us what a wonderful cat she can be when she feels safe.<br/><br/>Rosie is currently living in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. Her adoption fee is $750.<br/><br/>Rosie has already lost one home.
