Rose's Story

Hi, I'm Rose, a 3-year-old shy gal who was surrendered to find a "perfect-fit" home where my independence will be appreciated. I have lived in several spaces while at HAWS. First, by myself in a space that was so comfy, I'd never come out of my cubby to let people meet me. Then I moved to the Large Colony room with other cats, and I would claim the top spot of the climbing tree in the room to observe the people who entered ... but I wouldn't come down for adopters to meet me. Now I reside in a larger display in the cat adoption room where the cat cuddler volunteers sit down daily next to me and pet me inside my cubby. I think this might be what I need to build trust again ... people who sit quietly with me, talk softly and show me love with their petting or brushing my head. The longer they keep trying, it's only a matter of time when I will venture out of my cubby to meet my new person! Maybe it's you? I think I will be the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a calm kitty. I did get along with the other cats in the Large Colony room and I think I was more confident when I had the other cats around me. So if you have another quiet cat who needs a quiet friend, and we are properly introduced, I might be the one! My quiet personality will make me a wonderful friend for the right home looking for a serene, independent cat who will bring calm to your home.
